YGL Seeks Volunteers for 2010 Workathon On Saturday, May 15, 2010, D.C.-based non-profit “Hands On DC will hold its annual Workathon where volunteers spend the day improving the physical condition of DC public schools. YGL’s D.C. and Bethesda chapters will be teaming up once again to participate in this event. We are in need of enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in donating part of their Saturday to make a difference in the D.C. community. Work typically involves projects such as painting, cleaning, and landscaping. Volunteers are not required to donate or collect donations but it is appreciated. Donations have enabled Hands On DC to provide over $570,000 in scholarships as well as purchase supplies (i.e. paint, mulch, etc,) for use during the annual event. Individuals who raise $50 or more will receive a free Hands On DC t-shirt. Last year we raised more than $800. This year, we hope to raise more than $1,000.
